If you have recovered from COVID-19, but still have symptoms, you might have Long COVID.

Symptoms can include:

  • tiredness

  • shortness of breath

  • difficulty sleeping

  • anxiety and depression

  • racing heart

  • chest tightness or pain

  • joint or muscle pain

  • brain fog - not being able to think straight of focus

  • Lost or changed sense of smell or taste

  • persistent cough.

COVID-19 is still quite new

Research is ongoing (both internationally and including New Zealand specific studies), it is difficult to say how long these might last.

Ways to manage symptoms

We suggest finding a way to manage and minimise your symptoms of long COVID, which could vary from taking paracetemol to trialing other treatments. It will be best to talk to your GP.
